Superior Flow Characteristics

TRUBORE uPVC Ribbed Screens have superior flow characteristics compared to their metal counter parts. Horizontal slotting in the screen offer many advantages over vertical slotting. Such pipes are stronger compared to vertically slotted pipes. They also have generally a higher percentage of open are which is an important criterion for slotted pipes.The horizontal opening in the pipes permit entry of water with the least resistance.

Characteristics of Ribbed Screen Pipes

TRUBORE offers Ribbed Screens made as per IS 12818 and these Screens have Ribbed sections on the outside surface.

The zones with the ribs keep granulated soils away from the slots and increase the permeability rating to more than double in comparison with smooth (unribbed) exterior Screens.

The raised ribs of TRUBORE Screens prevent direct contact of sand and gravel with the screen exterior in the area of slots and it is this which provides particularly good hydraulic properties to the screens, as the water has an uninterrupted entry to the Screen slots. This hydraulic advantage can be very well utilized in the wells which have a hight output, using smaller diameter screens. Further the exterior ribs contribute to increase the screen strength. The collapse resistance of Ribbed Screen pipes is significantly higher than that of smooth exterior screens and in addition, the ribs increase the area of cross section of the pipes, thus providing higher axial load rating.
